Push Service

Push service allows the Synology NAS to send notifications to your mobile device or web browsers when specific events or errors occur.

To enable email notification provided by Synology:

1. Tick Send notifications regarding system status via Synology's email server.
2. Enter one or more email addresses in the Recipients field. System notifications will be sent to the addresses entered here. Two addresses are allowed. Separate multiple addresses with a semi-colon (;).
3. Click Apply, and a verification mail should be sent to the addresses specified in the Recipients field. Please follow the steps in the verification mail.
4. After verification, you can click Send a test message and then click OK to send a test notification.

To enable mobile device notifications:

1. Go to Control Panel > Notification > Push Service.
2. Tick the box Enable mobile device notifications, and then click Apply.
3. Install and launch DS finder on your mobile device, and then add your Synology NAS to the Favorite list to pair your mobile device with the Synology NAS.
4. Click Send a test message and then click OK to send a test notification. Then launch DS finder on your mobile device to check whether the test message is received.

To manage paired mobile devices:

1. Click Manage paired devices to see the list of all paired mobile devices.
2. If you want to unpair any of the devices, select them and click Unpair. (Press and hold Shift or Ctrl while making multiple selections.) No notification will be sent to them unless you pair them up again.

To enable browser notifications:

1. Tick Enable mobile device notifications, and then click Apply to activate this function.
2. Click Enable browser notifications to pair your Synology NAS with the browser.
3. Do any of the following in the window that appears:
• For Chrome: Click Install Now to install Chrome extension, and then sign into your Google account if you haven't.
• For Safari: Click Allow to authorize the notification service.
4. When you are redirected back to the browser notification page, click the Paired Device tab to view the information of paired devices or to unpair your Synology NAS from the browser, or click the Event tab to view your browser notification history in the past seven days.
