Info Center
Info Center displays basic information regarding various aspects of your DiskStation, such as hardware specifications, network, storage, and services. Info Center is located at Control Panel > Info Center.
General
The General tab displays the basic information regarding your DiskStation, such as serial number, model name, the amount of physical memory, DSM version, time information, thermal status, or external devices.
Thermal Status*
The thermal status of the DiskStation is indicated by green or orange lights:
- Green: Thermal status is normal.
- Orange: Temperature of the DiskStation is too high. If the temperature of the DiskStation remains high, it might shut down due to overheating.
Network
The Network tab displays network information, such as DNS server, IP address, subnet mask, and more.
Storage
The Storage tab displays information related to volume usage and hard disk status.
The Storage tab displays information related to storage usage and the status of external storage devices.
Hard Disk Status
The following are the possible status types of an internal hard disk:
- No Disk Installed: No disk is installed in the corresponding hard disk slot.
- Not Initialized: System partition and volume are not established on the hard disk.
- Normal: System partition and volume are available for use on the hard disk.
- Initialized: System partition is established, but no volume has been created.
- System Partition Failed: System partition on the hard disk is unavailable.
- Crashed: Failed to access volume on the hard disk. We recommend that you replace the hard disk.
Note:
For the system to function normally, there should be at least one disk in Normal or Initialized status.
Service
The Service tab displays a list of services and installed packages, including options to enable or disable each service and package. In addition, for some services and packages, there are options to test connectivity or choose whether or not each service or package can be accessed through the firewall.
To modify service or package settings:
- The following options are available:
- Enable: Enable or disable the services or package.
- Allow through firewall: Add or remove the ports used by the service or application at Control Panel > External Access > Router Configuration, allowing the service or package to pass through the firewall of the DiskStation.
- Settings: Select the network interface whose firewall settings you would like to display and manage. You can select All to display and manage the firewall settings of all network interfaces.
- Test Connection: Test the ports used by services and packages. This allows you to test whether or not devices can access the services and package from an external network.
- Click Save to save changes or Reset to discard changes.
