DHCP Server
Your DiskStation can assume the role of a DHCP server and assign dynamic IP addresses to DHCP clients within your local area network.
To enable DHCP server:
- Go to Control Panel > Network > Network Interface.
- Select a network interface (e.g. LAN) and click Edit.
- Go to the DHCP Server tab and tick Enable DHCP Server.
- Enter a value in the Address lease time field to set the DHCP lease time (in minutes) for IP addresses assigned to DHCP clients.

Enter the DNS address for DHCP clients in the Primary DNS (required) and Secondary DNS (optional) fields.

Set the domain name for DHCP server in the Domain name (optional) field.

Click OK.
To add a subnet:

Click Add and then specify the information under the following columns:

Enable: Enable or disable the subnet.

Start: The first IP address of the subnet.

End: The last IP address of the subnet.

Netmask: The subnet mask.

Gateway: The gateway of the subnet.

Click OK.
Note:
- You can only add up to 32 subnets.
DHCP Clients
To see a list of DHCP clients and their network configurations (e.g. MAC address, IP address, hostname, and the amount of time left before the DHCP lease expires), you can go to the DHCP Clients tab.
DHCP Reservation
If you want a client to always receive the same IP address during DHCP lease renewal, you can add the client to the address reservation list.
To add a client to the address reservation list:
- Click Add.
- Specify the client's MAC address, the IP address you want to assign to the client, and the client's hostname.
- Click OK to save your settings.
